October's Smalls Post.....

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our host for the Smalls SAL.  You can click on her link above or on her blog name.  This is such a fun SAL to do all year long!

I have quite a few smalls to share this month.  The first one is a birthday present I gave to my dear friend Pat back in July, but I couldn't post a picture of it.  I was stitching it for my SB Retreat roommates, and I didn't want them to see their gift ahead of time.

This is MBT Friends Are Family.  I used HDF on 28ct white jobelan.  The colors were just random that I picked from my stash.

This is the fob that I designed up to donate at the SB Retreat.  Our theme this year was Embrace the Journey.  I found these wonderful charms at JoAnn Fabrics which made designing this fob so much easier.  When we donated our fobs, we also gave a $5 donation which went to the Heifer International.  SB had chosen that they would send a girl from another part of the world to school.  All the money that was donated with the fobs, SB would match the donation.  You can see more about our retreat on the SB blog.  All the projects this year were just simply FANTASTIC!  I told Teri and Tina that this was the best retreat ever since I have been going to them!!!  They just continue to amaze me with their creativity as well as the other designers!

I have stitched up 2 Foxwood Crossings sleds but for donation to Attic Needlework Breast Cancer Aucion.  I have stitched them in honor of my pastor's wife who was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

The last small to be "finished" was my Erica Michael's Yikesberry strawberry.  I have never had to do a strawberry finish where I had to add my seam allowance.  I got it all cut out, but I think my fingers slipped a little as I don't think it's centered exactly right for the spider's body to be at the point of the strawberry.  Well at least not to my liking..... but I will just call this one a "learning experience".  I used the fabric and threads called for as listed.  It was a fun stitch earlier this year, but I just did the finishing on it yesterday.  Just in time to have for my Fall/Halloween display in the main living room.

That's all I have to share for this month's Smalls Post!   Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my blog and comment!!

Happy Stitching!

A finish....late posting picture

Good afternoon everyone!  I am so sorry for this late posting my Just Nan Spring In the Air!  I had posted my WIP pictures before but really concentrated on getting it done before I went to the Shepherd's Bush retreat.  I wanted to take it to Jill Rensel to frame up for me and paint some pansies on the mat.  You can see Jill and her amazing staff work at Jill Rensel blog.

When I took it to Jill last week, she said that Amber was the one who painted pansies really well and I said that was great!  Whoever could paint some on the mat I would let them work their magic in painting/framing it.

Here is the stitched project.  When I get it back from Jill, I will post a picture of it.

I also took her 3 other SB projects which were Gratitude sampler, Family and Glad Heart.  Shame on me for NOT taking pictures of the finished projects before taking them to Jill.  I have never done that before, and if I did, then I have filed them somewhere that I don't remember where.  Shame on me but I trust Jill and her staff.

I'm off to stitch on SB Friends because Jill said that my favorite frame that SB used is now being discontinued.  This Friends kit has that lovely frame on it so will be mailing it out to her tomorrow before that molding gets discontinued.

Happy Stitching!

October TUSAL .....

Sharon of It's Daffycat is our hostess of our TUSAL.  You can find more information about what is TUSAL and all our ORTs by clicking on Sharon's blog of It's Daffycat.

I have been stitching quite a bit and was quite amazed at how many ORTs I have for this Oct TUSAL report.  You can see all my ORTs in my ORT tin that was handpainted by my dear friend Pat.  Of course, this is just the inside of the tin.

This is just a reminder picture of what the lid of my ORT tin looks like.  Didn't Pat do an excellent job tole painting it???  I LOVE IT!!!

Now all my ORTs will soon be transferred to my bigger jar.  I will show those next month!

I will try to post tomorrow a couple of my bigger projects I've been stitching on to keep you up to date on them.

Happy Stitching everyone!
