My Memorial Day Contest Rules Amended.......

Ok.  I got to thinking about my rules to win one of my T.O.P.s from my Memorial Day contest.  I was thinking that not everyone has a blog that follows my blog so I really don't want to leave anyone out of the contest so I'm extending the contest for a few more days and will draw a couple of names out on June 2.

NEW RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. You must be a follower of my blog.  (That didn't change.)
2.  Sign up here ...... or the original post on Memorial Day.
3.  Post my contest on some sort of social media - like Facebook -- and email me that you did so.

Super easy.  Again.....like I said. I didn't want to leave anyone out of the contest should they not have a blog.

Now.....I'm off to a few chores and get some stitching done today.

Happy Stitching!

May Smals SAL posting......

Good Morning everyone!  Today is the day for our Smalls SAL posting that Heather is doing on Stitching Lotus.  You can click the link above or here at her blog link Stitching Lotus.

As usual, I have been stitching my JN Ornamental Advent days for my monthly "smalls" project.  I figured they are small projects and once again, I managed to get my 3 days stitched for this month.  I thought I might get a 4th day stitched, but it just didn't happen.  Oh well.  No biggie.  I do apologize for the crooked picture as I was trying to get it so there wasn't so much sunlight coming through the window to get a decent picture.

The other little "smalls" project I stitched for this month was SB Sweet Liberty!!!  I just LOVE these little kit projects!!!  SB also has many other kits here on their website.  You can check them out at this link.  You can stitch these small kits up in A DAY!!!  You can't beat that for "instant gratification" when you want to feel the need for a completed project.  I've stitch the Spring Box once before and have a couple more little ones left to do in my stash.

Hmmmm now to figure out HOW I want to finish it.  I don't know whether to get a small box from Michael's or Hobby Lobby and paint it in red/white/blue to display in my Americana room.

That's all I have to share for today as I am off to stitch for the rest of the day.....hopefully!!!

Happy Stitching!

Memorial Day Remembrance, some patriotic stitching and a contest!

I want to start this Memorial Day post out by remembering those fallen soldiers who have gone before me, served their country with great honor and have died!  I just want to say that I will never forget the sacrifice that they have given for our freedom today!!!

GOD BLESS YOU -- YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!
Today we are spending the day together as a family, remembering and celebrating the meaning of Memorial Day.  I will also be starting a new stitching project for this special day.  Vonna, who does the stitching and finishing for Diane of LHN, posted on Facebook the other day to join in a patriotic SAL.  We are to choose a patriotic chart from either LHN or CCN, gather our supplies and start today.... Memorial Day.  She wanted us to post which chart we were going to start, and we have to stitch it and share a finished picture of it on Facebook on July 4.  Not just a picture of the stitching but I think we are to show it totally finished.

I signed up (who can't resist a NEW START on a holiday -- ME!) and with it being patriotic, I was all excited to join in as I will be able to display it in my Americana room.  I decided I would stitch LHN Old Glory that came out last year.  Oh and we were supposed to share our photos of what chart and supplies we chose for the project on FB.

The first photo shows the better color of the fabric.  I know I have 2 pictures showing what my project will be, but I thought I could turn the HDF threads sideways to show the names of the silk threads I was using.  I think I might have to use some DMC B5200 which is a much brighter white than my HDF Ecru and the HDF White 5201 still didn't show up as well either.  I also wanted to get a picture showing my Dovo Patriotic scissors in there as well for this occasion.  I bought those for myself this past December from The Silver Needle New Year's Eve sale.  And what new project doesn't need a brand NEW unused needle to start out with!  :)

Now......on to the contest portion of this blog post.  I haven't done a contest in a while and I know what the reason is......life has gotten in the way.  So....no more excuses!  This will be for one of my Thread Organizer Packs (T.O.P.s).

Rules are simple:

1. You have to be a follower of my blog.
2.  Post this contest on your blog.
3.  Sign up here and tell me that you posted on your blog.  (I WILL CHECK to make sure!)

I have 2 different patriotic fabrics, and I will mail out of country too if any of my overseas friends want to have one.   Here is what I have chosen this morning.  I just took a picture of the fabrics I pulled out of my stash.

Here is what one looks like and the inside for those of you who want to know WHAT I am talking about a T.O.P.s.  This is an old picture but I love these because they are a great way to hold your floss for those small projects when going somewhere.  There is a piece of felt for your needles and 12 floss bags.

Of course, this is not the same TOPs but here is what the inside looks of another one:

Now I'm off to stitch on my LHN Old Glory but I did want to leave you with one last photo......

Happy Stitching!

Memorial Day weekend stitching......

I was going to post a freebie chart but it seems to be that I'm "computer illiterate" again at how to post something so simple as a freebie chart.  If you know how to do this, PLEASE email me and tell me how to do that!!!!   I hope to be stitching all weekend and thinking of all those who have gone before me to fight for our freedom!!!

I will be stitching on some small patriotic charts and my SB one that I have the mat for already!!!  I hope to get a lot stitched on it so I can take it to the framers to add to my Americana room!!!

Look for my Memorial Day post this coming Monday as I will be having a contest for a special prize!!!  Until then....

HAPPY STITCHING!

May TUSAL......

Yep....it's that time again for our TUSAL report.  Sharon of It's Daffycat is our host for this SAL.  You can click on the link above or her blog name that is highlighted here to take you to what this SAL is all about.

I have been stitching on a lot of different things but here is one that I finished stitching last month that contributed to a lot of my ORTs since the last time I posted my TUSAL report.  But not all the ORTs are from this little finish.  I've been stitching on my JN Ornamental Advent, something for my hubby for Father's Day, and some small projects.

Here is what I have to show for this month for my ORTs.

Now I'd like to show you my SAL with my friend Janet.  We are doing our With Thy Needle and Thread Word Plays.  We are doing them a month ahead in hopes of displaying them the 2nd month that we're on.  She's done better than I have for getting hers TOTALLY FINISHED into the little pillows. WTG Janet!!!!   Maybe I'll try to work on doing that this week.  But we are doing something that a friend of ours did.  She put 2 months together for finishing and displaying.  For example, January will be backed by February, March goes with April, May goes with June, and so on but you get the point.  I have just haven't gotten around to doing the sewing them together part.  Oh well.  I'll get there.  I'm not worried about it.  It shouldn't take that long......I hope!  haha

Here is May's finish as I'm still working on finishing up June.  Hopefully I can get June finished in the next couple of days so I can ACTUALLY DISPLAY it in June!  LOL

That's all I have for today.  Until my next post......HAPPY STITCHING!!!
