Smalls Report for May......
Here is my May Smalls SAL report. Be sure to check out her link on my sidebar or just move your cursor over the links in this post. This is from The Primitive Hare 2014 Design Contest. We were to purchase the chart from The Primitive Hare but the thread color was left up to our imagination! It also had to be "finished completely" to enter it in the contest.
I absolutely love the color pink so I knew I wanted some of it to be pink. When I saw the needle, well, I automatically think shiny silver color. Yes I know there are gold needles out there but the needles I use are all silver. I used a Kreinik #4 Silver Braid for the needle color. Then I needed to decide WHAT COLOR for the scissors! Oh my! What color do I stitch it in??? Yes.....I have many different colored scissors! Why you may ask???? Because they looked cute or I just "had to have" them to add to the collection. In the end, I just used a darker grey color for the scissors as it just flowed with the color scheme.
Here is the back which I was able to find a lovely coordinating fabric to match my thread color. I used a pink chenille trim around the edges and filled it with just a little bit of walnut shells to add some weight to the pincushion and the remaining with Polyfil.
That is all I have to share for today. I hope you are finding something enjoyable to stitch on today. I'm off to work on an ornament for a Christmas present.
Happy Stitching!
