Happy Leap Year!!!

Yeah!  We get another day in February!!!  Oh what to do today?  Hmmmm something special or maybe do a little bit of finishing work or go to my new Hobby Lobby!!!???   I like the sound of going to my new Hobby Lobby!!!  I need a couple more wooden boxes for making into birthday gifts.

Here is an update of my BBD Breath of Spring SAL challenge to my blog followers.  I did finish the stitching for my Breath of Spring last week.  I went on Saturday to JoAnn Fabrics and found some very pretty backing fabric for it as well but did not find any lace like BBD had used on theirs.  I am hoping that this cording that I found will do nicely for an outside finish.

The colors in the finishing fabric were nice pastel colors that matched the colors in the design.  I did make one change on the chart though.  The GA Chai floss for the bunny's tail did not show up on my fabric which is 35ct Vintage Iced Cappuccino so I substituted DMC 3865 for the tail color.  I just used what fabric I had from my stash and only bought 3 or 4 missing colors for the project.

I hope everyone has a great day today!  I have errands to run this morning and then will try to get this little project totally finished later on today.

Happy Stitching!

February Smalls Post

Today is our February Smalls post!!!  Heather of Stitching Lotus is our gracious host of this wonderful SAL!  So be sure to go onto her blog to see all the wonderful Smalls that have been stitched and posted this month.  You can click on the link above or her blog link highlighted.

I got a LOT accomplished since January's post!  I didn't think I did so I had to go back to my Finished Project list and write down all that I have stitched to share with you today.

One Friday night, I had all evening to xstitch by myself because DH was with DS at a Youth Lock In at our church.  So I started a new project just for me that day and into the night!!  WOOHOO  I haven't had a night to stitch uninterrupted in a long time.

Here is JN Strawberry Heart and Tiny Beaded Heart Whimzi!  Yes!  That is right.  Not only was I able to complete one JN project from start to finish but also a small whimzi as well!!!

I started JN Queen's Heart on Valentine's Day!  The frames that JN picks out for her designs are just soooo beautiful!!!

Keeping on the Valentine's theme for February, I started WTN&T February WP!  I just realized this morning that I had forgotten to take the picture so I had to go quickly take the picture for today's post.

I stitched this JBW French Country Amor design for my DD's Valentine's Day box at college.  It was stitched in HDF Perfect Red 6213 and made into a pillow finish hanging ornament.

Then I was looking on Pinterst and found this atom design.  I purchased the chart to stitch up for her as well.  I did make an addition and change to the design and added another heart to the atom and shifted one into a new place.

This is iStitch Designs EASTER freebie.  You can click on her blog link that is highlighted to go to her blog and download her free design.  I was getting ready for Easter decorations ahead of time.  The little basket is one that my dear friend Pat painted for me long ago, but I thought this little Easter design looked beautiful displayed next to it to photograph!

Then one day, I got motivated to get some finishing done on some projects that have been stitched for a while but not totally finished.

This is iStitch Design Sew a Brown Bunny.  I have been looking for the right backing fabric for a while and found some to finish a lot of my new (and old projects) with the same fabric.

This is SB Little Eggs Pincushion.  Yes....I still used the same backing fabric but I made sure to get the eggs from the fabric to be seen.  I am not a fond of finishing things with the ribbon around it, but I will do it.  Now I'm wishing that I had twisted this ribbon around the pincushion besides just making it loopy looking.

That is all I have to share today.  I have a couple more stitched projects that I did complete this month but they are not finished yet and they are birthday presents.

Until my next post......HAPPY STITCHING!

Happy BeLated Valentine's Day & BBD Breath of Spring SAL.....

I just wanted to wish my blogger friends a Happy BeLated Valentines Day.  When a holiday falls on the weekends, I find myself not posting as I like to spend the time with family.  We had a very nice Valentine's Day!!!

Now......on to some fun stuff!!!

My friend Janet and I decided we needed to get BBD Breath of Spring stitched up in time for us to display for Easter.  So we pulled the supplies we had in our stash to see what colors we might be missing as well as what fabric we would want to use.  We will be doing this as a SAL, and I've emailed several of my other friends to join in the SAL.

Then I got to thinking last night that I should include my blogger friends as well to join in our SAL!  So if you have this chart in your stash and not stitched and you want to join along, then come along!!!  Janet and I are going to try and have this stitched to display by Easter.  That is our goal.  I will be posting my finish by Easter.

If you are a follower of my blog but do not have a blog and want to join in, all you have to do it email me and let me know you are joining in my SAL.  Then send me a picture of your finished pincushion and I will be happy to post it when I post mine.

You can start stitching this as soon as you want.  I hope I'll have a few more people to join in with this SAL.

Happy Stitching!

February TUSAL .....

Yeah!!!  It's time for our monthly TUSAL report!!!  It's hosted by Sharon of It's Daffycat blog and you can click the picture above or my TUSAL link.

I've truly been busy stitching a lot, but I can't show you all the projects just yet.  Some are Valentine's Day gifts and very late birthday gifts.  Once I've sent the belated gifts, I will be happy to share the pictures here with you.

Here are my ORTs since the last TUSAL report in January.  See how much my ORT tin is almost full this time!!!

Happy Stitching!

ORT winner!!!!

I asked my husband to pick a number from 1 to 9 and he chose the number 3!!!!  So Robin in Virginia is  my ORT winner!!!  Thank you everyone for entering my contest!!!

Keep checking back as I may have another one for March!!!  This seemed like a good contest to offer and it's always good to have an ORT catcher for what season it might be!  Kinda like our scissor fobs for the different seasons!!!

Happy Stitching!

Valentine Contest.....

I know I commented earlier today about posting a contest this weekend but I decided to give everyone a little extra time for entering it.

If you want to win this cute little ORT catcher, all you have to do is comment on this post.  If you have a blog, post my contest on your blog advertising my contest, and you will get an extra entry for your name.

The outside color is soft pink with red and fuchsia hearts and white daisies with green leaves.  The inside of the ORT catcher is more of the fuchsia.

I will pick the winner on next Monday in hopes of getting it to you by Valentine's Day.  And yes....I will mail overseas but will not guarantee it arrives by Valentine's Day.

Happy Stitching!

Ending ORTs pic

When I posted my TUSAL for last month I meant to put a picture that I had taken at the end of last year of how many ORTs were in my big jar.  I keep a small ORT catcher beside me when I stitch and then transfer them to the bigger jar for holding.

Here is what I ended up with.

I think I ended up with a nice fair amount of ORTs for last year.  I can't wait to see what I have for this year ending.

Keep checking back as I will be posting a contest hopefully this weekend!  You won't want to miss entering it!

Happy Stitching everyone!
