Happy August!!!

Hello everyone!!!  WOW yes I am making a blog post.  I know I have lost a few followers from being gone so much last year and busy this year too it seems.  But I also did go through a tornado earlier this year RIGHT before we moved which didn't help our prepacking before the movers came.

I am moving our son back to Un. of TN, Knoxville later this month and will spend some time with our moms who don't drive anymore.  I will hopefully get to spend some time with our daughter too and son-in-love a little while I am at home.

The house is getting there.  We have some boxes left in the guest bedroom left to put away as well as the family room which is now our office as well. Our son got his room all unpacked the night we moved in.  However, he did't have 26 1/2yrs worth of a house to unpack for one room either.  As for my sewing room, yeah, I have done a little rearranging in there with our son's help but only 1 trunk unpacked onto a bookcase shelf and it was NOT that much unpacked.  So needless to say, I have my work cut out for me when I get back from moving our son back to college.

After getting the sewing room all set up, I will definitely be in trying to finish Christmas ornaments for gifts this year.  I don't have too many left to stitch which is great!  Maybe I can squeeze in some extra stitching time while in TN.

Until then, I hope you are getting your Christmas ornaments all stitched up for gifts this year.

Happy Stitching!

YES.....I am still here.....long post

Yes I am still here.  I have not posted since May but I have had A LOT going on.  We went to TN to move our son out of his dorm, went to our son in law college graduation, spent time with family and left the day after Mother's Day to go back to OH.  Since then, we experienced that bad tornado that went through Beavercreek, OH.  That was a first for us in all our years, and I pray I never have to go through that again.  We were very blessed that our rental house with all our belongings was spared.  The house did sustain minimal damage but lots of trees down.  Our neighbor behind us had a tree that fell onto our fence, and in our neighborhood along with severe damage just 1 block from us.  We are just extremely thankful we were spared and the house was not damaged.  Otherwise we would have had to postpone our military move to TX.

Speaking of our move, yes we did make a new military move to San Antonio, TX.  We took the 4 days allotted to travel to here but did make arrangements to go see a friend of ours Change of Command ceremony one morning along the way.  However, we were not able to attend his retirement later on that day because of time limitations of making our way towards TX.

House hunting was another story here.  WOW!!!  We were looking at rental houses and by the time we would get back to our TLF (temporary lodging facility), we would put our applications in to rent.  However, 3 houses were rented before we could get the apps submitted.  One house that we REALLY loved was taken sight unseen even though we were the 1st ones to look at it when it came on to rent.  The real estate company's policy was that they took the applications in and it didn't matter if they had not viewed the house, but that the application was submitted first.  After viewing about 7 houses, some I would have been ashamed to show if I was property manager, but that is their decision to show it or not.  They were TOO FILTHY!

We did FINALLY get a rental house after 2weeks which was on June 29 but we couldn't get transportation to deliver our household goods until July 8.  My poor hubby is having a longer commute than he wanted.  But AT LEAST we are in a house now.  I am just taking a small break at the moment from unpacking and hanging clothes and washing things that have been in storage.

I hope to unpack my sewing room some over the next few days to make sure nothing is broken and that my machines all sew like they are supposed to.  I will unpack the rest of the sewing room after I take our son back to college in Aug.  I will be flying back with him to spend 3 weeks back in TN.  I will be helping my mom and my MIL out since neither drive anymore.  No more doing a quick 5hr drive back to home like I had while in OH.  Oh well.  That's the life of the military.

I guess I have "rested" enough.  Now back to unpacking and hanging clothes from my suitcase.  Oh joy......

HAPPY STITCHING EVERYONE.  I will get back to that here soon.....LOL!

Here is mine for the month of March.  I did have some but not very much because I was sick a lot this past month.  Thankfully I am on the mend, but I still have that nagging cough.  Hopefully it will go away soon!

That's all I have for now.

March Smalls SAL.....

Mary's Threads is our host for our Smalls SAL each month.  Please click on her blog name to be taken to her blog to see what all we have been doing and stitching.

I managed to get a PS 2002 Santa stitched up for a Christmas gift this year.  I haven't done the finishing because I have been so sick with a cold and chest congestion that has literally knocked me off my feet for almost 2 weeks.  This is also the reason for me NOT getting my March Smalls posted on time last Friday.

So on to the actual picture for you to see my PS Santa.  I hope to get him finished up into the actual ornament this week.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post.  I do hope to start posting more things about my stitching soon.

Happy Stitching!

Mar TUSAL.....

Sharon of It's Daffycat is our host for our TUSAL.  And as you can see.....I am late in posting mine.  I was supposed to have posted on Mar 6.  I had gotten back from the Nashville Needlework Market in plenty of time to post it but in all honesty, I just plain forgot.  I did not have it listed on my kitchen calendar nor my stitching calendar.  Shame on me.

But here is my ORTs for the month of Feb all the way up til today.   Now I get to add them to my bigger jar which at the moment still doesn't have too much from Jan and Feb.

Now I am off to stitch some as I want to get an ornament for a friend started for this year's Christmas present.

Happy Stitching!

February Smalls ....

Hi everyone.  Yep....I am a few days late for posting my Smalls but I had a very busy Fri for posting day.  You can join our SAL by clicking on this link to Mary's Thread.  We post on the last Friday of every month, and I really did mean to this past Friday.  However I had some unexpected appointments to come up.

Here is one of the things I did manage to stitch up and get totally finished.  It is The Primitive Hare Valentine freebie!!!  I used 36ct Sassy's Fabric and a HDF Gandy Tangopremium silk to stitch it in.  I filled it with crushed walnut shells to give it a little bit of weight.

I also finished a small for a Valentine Exchange that Sassy Jack's Stitchery organized.  We were to take a Plum Street Sampler chart and take a portion of it to make in to a small.  It could be made into any kind of small such as a pincushion, needlebook, scissor fob, etc.  I used the chart Remember Me and took a small portion and made it into a small pincushion .... again filled with crushed walnut shells and chenille trim around it.  I thought it turned out really nice.

I am off to stitch the day away and take care of a very sick hubby.

HAPPY STITCHING EVERYONE!

February ORTs.....

Sharon of It's Daffycat had posted our TUSAL on Monday, Feb 4.  She is our host for our TUSAL and you can click on her blog name to find out more about this group.

Sadly, I was NOT feeling well on Monday so I did not do much of anything, let alone check email.  Shame on me.  But I now have it on my calender all the dates for my TUSAL posting dates so I won't forget them in  the future.

I was gone a lot traveling last year so I am hoping to get back into the habit of posting on my blog.

Here is my ORTs for our TUSAL posting!!!

Now I am off to make some lunch and then settle in for some serious stitching today because we have 100% chance of rain scheduled to happen today.  Thank goodness I have already been this morning to have my labs drawn and back home before this downpour settled in!!

HAPPY STITCHING!!!!

January Smalls.....

Wow I really can't believe how I have not even posted a Happy New Year Post or anything else for this month.  Now I am even late posting my January Smalls.  I hope this is no indication of me being late for everything this year.  So let's get on with the posting of some stitching projects!!!!

Mary of Mary's Thread has taken over the posting for our Smalls SAL now for each month.  If you want to join in, please click her blog link that is highlighted or our Smalls SAL banner shown here and it will take you to her blog to see what to do about joining in.

The first project I am showing was a birthday gift, and it is a Stacy Nash chart that I made into a pincushion.  I used most of the colors listed on the chart with the exception of the red color for the flowers as I chose something else to match the backing fabric.  I love it so much I think I am going to stitch me one.

The next project I want to show you is from BBD For My Friend book.  This was also another birthday gift!!!  I used the colors called for on the chart but the box is bigger than what was called for the finishing.  I liked a little more linen showing around the edges than what was on the design in the book.

And a side view.....

Now I am off to stitch on a small for a Valentine finish to have to display for next month! Until then... Happy Stitching!
