August Smalls post......
Wow!!! It's that time again for our Smalls post for this month. Heather of Stitching Lotus is our gracious host for this SAL. I get so focused on what I'm going to be doing the following month that I have made a list that I can just mark off when the project gets finished!
I have 3 things to share for today. I have been doing other stitching but today is just dedicated for sharing our smalls.
I finished my last JN Ornamental Advent. As I said in a previous post, I wished I had just went ahead and finished Day 24 last month when I stitched my normal 3 days for the month of July.
I'm also trying to play catch up on my SB Fold that I joined a while back. I did manage to get the needlecase started and almost finished in one evening while staying up late with DS before he went back to school. Yes.....I stitched until 3:30a.m. and yes....he stayed up with me. We were watching movies and hanging out together! I still have the finishing work to do on my SB Fold needlecase but I hope to do that this weekend when I have some other sewing projects to complete.
I am not going to fold it in half like SB suggested to do. When I first got the kit in the mail, I immediately thought of finishing it where it would lay flat and open that way. I do promise to show the actual FINISHED project. I wasn't the only one who thought that way either. My friend Pat said she even found another piece of linen to stitch it on so that when she folded it, the backside of the outside of the needlecase was still a linen piece. Then she just lined the inside with fabric. I went yesterday to JoAnn Fabrics and found a piece of regular material that complimented the piece nicely to make it into the finished needlebook.
My last smalls for this month was LK USA Squared. I loved this little project so much when I stitched it for a Facebook Patriotic Exchange that I just had to stitch one for myself. I used the same HDF threads as the last one and the same 32ct Jobelan. This really is a quick stitch too if you are needing a small project.
My last Smalls that I sooooooo want to show you but just can't for now is the LK Little Mystery.
I am loving this little mystery that Linda has created for us this summer. It REALLY is a quick stitch!!! I have the first part all stitched as well as the fob that was the "extra" in part 1. I will share photos after all the parts have been given out.
As I said early in this post, I have some sewing to complete this weekend so I know where I'll be this weekend. In my sewing room!!!. I do have another small but I really wanted it to be completely finished when I showed it to you! So that will be in next month's post!

Late TUSAL post......
Sharon of It's Daffycat is the host of our TUSAL which is Totally Useless SAL. Head on over to her blog to see what she's up to and see all of us who are participating in her SAL.
I'm late posting my TUSAL for this month. The reason being that I was taking DD back to move into her dorm for college. I wanted to go early to help her sort through her stuff so she would only be moving in what she actually needed and leave the remaining stuff at my MIL house.
We sorted through all her college stuff and then went to get any last minute items. I was pleasantly surprised that it only took us a few hours to sort through her stuff, shred what she didn't need, and get it more organized for her moving into the dorm room. I took DS along with us to help move in since he had not started back to high school yet so an extra pair of hands and muscles definitely helped get it all moved in. So I was driving back on Friday when we were to post our TUSAL report and by the time I got home, I was a little tired from doing all that sorting/organizing/moving this previous week.
I did get some stitching done at night when all the work was done for the day so I did have a few ORTs to add to my collection this month. Here is what I managed to have since my last TUSAL report.
My mom rode back with me to come visit for a few days since she's not been here since I moved into this house last year. I'm just thankful though that I'm within driving distance of visiting them!!! She will leave on Tues when my husband goes to visit with his mom before going on to a business trip.
Now.....I'm back to my stitching. Thank you for stopping by to read my blog and as always........

Summer Tote exchange....
I belong to the Stitcher's Garden message board and through out the year, we do exchanges between our little family message board. I can show you now what I had stitched for my recipient, JoAnn, and what she sent to me which I received in the mail today!!! WOOHOO
This is the one I sent to JoAnn. It is LHN Summer Splendor but I changed the letters just a little bit and took out the A B C and X Y Z and replaced it with just SUMMER. As I told JoAnn, I promise that I sewed this design on straight measuring at the top but it was the bag that was originally sewn wrong and left more fabric at the bottom area.
Here is what JoAnn sent to me. I am also showing how she lined the inside of the bag which I now wished I had done that for hers. JoAnn tucked inside my bag a piece of Sassy's fabric, Classic Colorworks in Ladybug and a small floral notepad. Plus JoAnn had attached a small flower on the front of the bag and top stitched the vine down the bag! TOOO CUTE!!!
The lining is really a purple color but in this photo it looks blue. But she matched it to the design on the front!!! I just LOVE it!!!
