August Smalls post......
Wow!!! It's that time again for our Smalls post for this month. Heather of Stitching Lotus is our gracious host for this SAL. I get so focused on what I'm going to be doing the following month that I have made a list that I can just mark off when the project gets finished!
I have 3 things to share for today. I have been doing other stitching but today is just dedicated for sharing our smalls.
I finished my last JN Ornamental Advent. As I said in a previous post, I wished I had just went ahead and finished Day 24 last month when I stitched my normal 3 days for the month of July.
I'm also trying to play catch up on my SB Fold that I joined a while back. I did manage to get the needlecase started and almost finished in one evening while staying up late with DS before he went back to school. Yes.....I stitched until 3:30a.m. and yes....he stayed up with me. We were watching movies and hanging out together! I still have the finishing work to do on my SB Fold needlecase but I hope to do that this weekend when I have some other sewing projects to complete.
I am not going to fold it in half like SB suggested to do. When I first got the kit in the mail, I immediately thought of finishing it where it would lay flat and open that way. I do promise to show the actual FINISHED project. I wasn't the only one who thought that way either. My friend Pat said she even found another piece of linen to stitch it on so that when she folded it, the backside of the outside of the needlecase was still a linen piece. Then she just lined the inside with fabric. I went yesterday to JoAnn Fabrics and found a piece of regular material that complimented the piece nicely to make it into the finished needlebook.
My last smalls for this month was LK USA Squared. I loved this little project so much when I stitched it for a Facebook Patriotic Exchange that I just had to stitch one for myself. I used the same HDF threads as the last one and the same 32ct Jobelan. This really is a quick stitch too if you are needing a small project.
My last Smalls that I sooooooo want to show you but just can't for now is the LK Little Mystery.
I am loving this little mystery that Linda has created for us this summer. It REALLY is a quick stitch!!! I have the first part all stitched as well as the fob that was the "extra" in part 1. I will share photos after all the parts have been given out.
As I said early in this post, I have some sewing to complete this weekend so I know where I'll be this weekend. In my sewing room!!!. I do have another small but I really wanted it to be completely finished when I showed it to you! So that will be in next month's post!
Happy Stitching!

Lovely stitching. I agree with you about the SB needlebook - too pretty to be folded!
ReplyDeleteLove your SB needle book piece. I too would not want to fold it, i'd rather display the entire design.
