YEAH!!! Good news on computer!

I am sooo happy!!!  I had to take our newer computer into Best Buy Geek Squad to get a few things repaired.  I took it in on Veteran's Day, picked it up 3 days later, brought it home only to find that I needed to take it back to Geek Squad.  Needless to say, I won't bore you with the details but I have definitely gotten my money's worth for having Geek Squad Protection Plan from Best Buy.  It is sooo worth it.  Thankfully it's all fixed now as it runs much faster than our older one.

Also, one of the guys helped me get my issue with posting pictures here on my blog fixed as well.  There was a box under Details and Settings that was NOT clicked to allow the pictures to post.  Whew!  So glad that was fixed and the pictures are clickable again!

As I said in a previous post, I bought the Charlie Brown and Peanuts gang Christmas fabric to make Christmas vests for my daughter and I and ties for my husband and son.  Here is just a picture of the fabric folded for you to see what it looks like.  I just LOVE it!!!

I have my vest all finished except sewing the buttonholes and buttons on.  I haven't found exactly the buttons I want for the vests this year, but I want some cute Christmas buttons like I put on another of my Christmas vests.  I did get the ties made for DH and DS!!!

YEAH!!!  I just love how they turned out.  When I get the Christmas buttons sewn on my vest, I'll take a picture to show you as well.

I'm SOOO HAPPY to be posting again!!!  How funny we are soooo connected to our computers and electronics these days.  No I don't have a smart phone.  I still have a dumb phone but at least I can text with my family and friends on it!  I just can't check email.  Thankfully we had our old computer for DS to be able to do his homework on as well.  It's amazing how high schools have the kids do part of their homework on computer as well as my DD in college!

Nov TUSAL report....

It's that time again this month to post our TUSAL report.  I don't have the link to post at the top here because my newer computer is in being serviced and will hopefully be back soon.  So I'm thankful that we have an older computer to use and for DS to do his homework on each day.  But you can click on the link on my side bar or HERE to get you to Daffycat's blog.

Here are my ORTs from my last TUSAL report.  I seem to have a lot but I think they got squashed down when I transferred them from my ORT catcher to my ORT tin for photographing.

As I said, my newer computer is being serviced at Best Buy because I could not pull up certain cross stitch websites to view what is new.  So they think it was something about linking to having internet connection.  I don't know but hopefully the Geek Squad is getting it fixed.  I'm on a first name basis with 2 of the guys that work the desk there because I've had to take the computer in so often lately.  I'm HOPING this time they will get it all fixed as all my pictures are on that computer. 

At least I know the pictures I post here are clickable again but I did learn how to make them NOT clickable. 

I'm off to cut out my Christmas vest for this year and hopefully pin down the Christmas ties for hubby and DS.  I will make DD vest when she comes home.  I was able to get the Charlie Brown Christmas fabric from JoAnn fabrics!!!  It's soooooo cute!!  I can't wait to wear them this year.  However, DS said he would have rather had a vest than a tie.  He really hates to wear a tie and had I known that when I bought the fabric, I would have been making us ALL matching vests.  Oh well.  Maybe next year.  And yes....I'll share our picture when we have them made this year!

Happy Veteran's Day

I want to take a moment today to honor all those Veteran's who have served in the past, serving now and will serve in the future!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

I don't usually decorate for Halloween but I have gotten into in recent years doing the "fun" decorating style and not scary.  I DON'T DO SCARY ANYTHING!!!  Ask my husband.  I don't even like to get spooked or scared.  He used to try to scare me a lot while we were dating and I told him he better stop or I was going to punch him.  Well......guess what???  He evidently believe me because he did it one more time and I sure enough punched him in the stomach.  Thank goodness he still married me!!!  I really do love him and I think that convinced him I was serious about not liking to be scared.

I am going to be starting a new little project tonight.  We are not handing out candy and DS is not out trick or treating with anyone.  I did buy candy for us to enjoy though!!!

I am going to be stitching JN Scream Girls to put into a whimzi!!!  You can see it here on Just Nan's website.  Just Nan Scream Girls  Ok.....so they are a little spooky looking but I just LOVE to xstitch those whimzi's.  I've just started collecting some of her fun halloween designs so I guess I'm trying to play catch up to have some cute and fun decorations.

I won a prize!!!!!!

I have been meaning to share this prize with you for a while now.  It seems like my days get away from me before I know it. 

As you know, I am ALWAYS ENTERING Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppes contests!!!!  Well, I WON ONE recently and I am sad to say that I have not shared my PRIZE photo with you yet! 

I'm so sorry Nancy!  I TRULY loved receiving it!!!  What is funny is that my husband was soooo shocked at how generous Nancy was with sending out a box of overdyed floss!!!!  Here it is!!!

 

I won the Primitive Collection set.  Yes as you can see, I'm STILL having issues with Blogger letting me Insert Image to be clickable!  I just don't know what to do!  I've reported the problem to them.

 

 

I'm still trying to find a special design to stitch with her threads!!!  Hmmmmm maybe a primitive pincushion????

October Smalls

Heather of Stitching Lotus is our host of our monthly Smalls SAL.  I wanted to post yesterday but as usual, my computer would not let me post ANY pictures!  Arggghhhh  So I am at Best Buy at 10a.m. first thing this morning to see WHAT IS WRONG with my computer now.  He looked at it and could not find anything wrong.  He said that the computer was just fine and that most likely it was something with Blogger.  But he did help me and said that I could copy and paste my pictures in my post instead of using the little window file to just click above to post the pictures. 

 

So if someone knows HOW to get the "Insert Image" link to work or for me to be able to have the pictures "clickable" again, it would be greatly appreciated for any help you can offer.

 

The first smalls I have are 2 small MBT Cross of Christmas ornaments from the 2009 JCS magazine.  I stitched these 2 ornaments.  One for my husbands boss who was moving to a new duty station and the other for the secretary who had worked for the AF for 40years!!!  These were stitched with HDF Magpie Tears 2343 and 2349 for the one on the left and Magpie Tears 2345 and 2349 for the one on on the right. 

 

 

I was able to finish another round box by Shepherd's Bush called Hear Bells!  I am still missing 1 more round box kit somewhere in my stash.  I have looked EVERYWHERE that I know and still can't find it so I just ordered that kit when I was ordering something else form SB. 

 





 

Here is an ornament that I have stitched recently!  This is a Santa from Prairie Schooler Good Saint Nick chart.  I just LOVE that chart and I remember singing that song as a child.....which is WHY I bought the chart!  I still need to stitch the whole thing with that verse!

 

 

Now I get to share my JN Witchy Mouse all finished!  I had her stitched since about February but went to finish her last month and finish her into the mouse.  I got her all done but had issues with trying to figure out how to do her broom.  I think I was overthinking the process of finishing it but just put it away and asked my friend Janet when she came for a visit.  She agreed with me how I was to finish the broom as I was doing it right.  So NOW......Witchy Mouse is all done and on display in my formal living room area.  She is really REALLY cute!!

 

 

 

 

My last Halloween piece that I have finished was BBD Midnight Ride that I did as a SAL with Janet.  This was stitched on 40ct and placed on top of a small wooden box.

 

 

 

And the little pincushion that went along with the chart as well.  The ribbon was supposed to be couched down around the pincushion with small tails left but I didn't like the ribbon just laying flat so I made little poufs all around it.  I like it a lot better that way.

 

 

 

I have many more ornaments that I have stitched up and are waiting to be finished but I can't show those to you right now as some are Christmast gifts!!!

Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe Halloween thread contest

Oooooo who couldn't use more floss in their stash????  ME!  I can always use more floss in my stash as it seems when I go to pull them for a project.....one is ALWAYS missing!!  So then I go into "substitution mode" thus my reasoning for needing more floss!!!
