January Smalls SAL .....

Once again we are starting our Smalls SAL!!!  Heather from Stitching Lotus is our wonderful hostess for this SAL.  You can click on her blog title Stitching Lotus to find our more about it and to sign up if you want to join us!!!

I've been quite busy stitching trying to stay ahead of the game for birthday presents and my ornaments.....and anything else stitching that might catch my interest!!!!  LOL

This is Foxwood Crossing's K initial on a medium sled.  I bought it while visiting family in TN at Dixie Darlin cross stitch shop in Pigeon Forge, TN.  It is stitched in the bead colors and DMC floss suggested!!  This was such a fun design to stitch, and I foresee many more gifts being stitched like this one.  (Thank you again Robin for getting me addicted to these sleds!)

This next project is from BBD In Friendship's Way book.  I did not use the box that BBD suggested as it was not available at my local Hobby Lobby.  So I just used the next best thing......chose another size box.

I stained the box with Minwax Wood Stain Early American 230 color.  Here is the Wood Stain if anyone wanted to know exactly what it looks like, and I found it at Lowes.

I finally got around to sewing the ribbon onto my SB 2015 O Christmas Tree ornament.  Ribbon finishing is not my favorite thing to do when sewing it onto ornaments with the beads.  I find it very "fiddley" to get the ribbon to lay the way I think it should lay.  And yes.... I have watched Teri Richard's of SB You Tube video on how to attach it properly.  Numerous times in fact to make sure I am doing it right.  I guess I wasn't in the right mood for finishing it the other day as a couple sides didn't turn out the way I wanted them to and stick out too far.  But IT'S DONE....and I'm not taking it apart.  I would MUCH RATHER attach rickrack and beads or make a cording and sew it on to go around my ornaments than attach the ribbon edging.

This is SB Happy Christmas freebie.

And the back of Happy Christmas.

The last picture is an ornament for myself which was inspired for me to start after reading Vonna's blog The Twisted Stitcher.  She had posted about her Christmas trees on Days 21 and 22 last year and said she had a PS tree.  You can see it here on her blog.

I have stitched many PS ornaments for friends over the years but have never kept one for myself.  Well I did this past December but I wanted to add to that ornament this year.  So I stitched PS 2006 Santa, and he is stitched on 36ct Summer Khaki. decide on which PS Santa to do next.  I'm thinking of starting 2014 Santa, but I will have to go look in my PS binder to see which Santa or ornament INSPIRES me to stitch next!

I'm off to stitch for the rest of the day.  Happy Stitching everyone!
