February Smalls SAL.....

Yeah!  We get to post about all our Smalls SAL.  This group is hosted by our lovely Heather of Stitching Lotus.  You can click on the link above or on her blog name.

I was stitching a lot of MBT 10 Commandments which I had shared earlier this month so I did not accomplish as many small ornaments this month as I had hoped.  Oh well.  There is next month.

I stitched Heart in Hand XOXO for my daughter's Valentine present in her box of Valentine goodies this year.  I found the backing fabric I wanted to use and then matched the floss to the colors in the backing fabric.  This is stitched on 28ct Opalescent White Lugana with Sampler Thread Buckeye Scarlett and Bubblegum Pink along with WDW Molasses.

Next I stitched PS 2016 Santa for my monthly ornament!  I did change the green from 501 to 895.  I like the darker green better.

I didn't really like how stiff the Polyfil was when I stuffed this up.  It was Polyfil brand, but the packaging was WAY DIFFERENT than I had ever bought in all the many years of using Polyfil and it felt different in my hands.  I went back to JoAnn Fabrics and got this brand which I like WAY BETTER.

This is JN Tiny Toile Heart.  It was a small chart that came with the silk included as well as the lovely crystal for the attachment.  I just finished it as a pincushion.

The last small project I stitched for this month was JN Frost Flowers!!!  I already had the whimzi in my stash as I'm trying to get all my whimzi's completely stitched this year.  I only have a few more.

Thank you for taking the time to read through all of my Smalls finishes!  Now....back to stitching!

HAPPY STITCHING EVERYONE!

  3. Gorgeous smalls this month! I really love the one you made for your daughter. Would you believe it has never occurred to me to choose banking fabric first and match the floss colours to it?!

  5. What a great idea - to select the finishing fabric and then match the floss to it. Love it. Of course all your smalls are beautiful - I like the darker green better too
